Offered online or in-person, the course is highly accessible and flexible, allowing you to learn in a format that best suits your needs. During the 8-hour session (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM), you’ll gain hands-on experience with a commercial espresso machine and grinder, learn how to extract quality espresso shots, and understand the core principles behind milk steaming for a well-balanced cappuccino.
This course focuses on real-world barista skills, not latte art or advanced brewing techniques—that's covered in the SCA’s Intermediate modules. Instead, you’ll learn the foundational techniques that every barista needs: espresso dosing and tamping, understanding grinder adjustments, steam wand safety, milk texturing, and basic workflow behind the bar. You’ll also explore how to build drinks on a basic café menu and engage with simple customer service scenarios.
